The Wyckoff Board of Health convened its annual reorganization meeting Thursday evening, electing new officers, welcoming a new Township Committee liaison, and alerting residents to an active flu season in the area.

Michael Sparozic, a registered pharmacist, was elected president for 2026, and Donna Garbaccio, a registered nurse, was elected vice president, according to the board's work session minutes. [1] The nominations were made by a committee of Casey Colaneri and Diane Holborow. No other nominations came from the floor, and the board secretary cast the vote in favor of both nominees.

The board also welcomed James Schappert as the new Township Committee liaison, who will represent the elected governing body in its ongoing work with the health board. Members introduced themselves and greeted Schappert at the meeting.

On the health front, members discussed respiratory illness circulating in the area this winter. Flu A is running at elevated levels in the region, the board noted, and testing is available for residents who develop symptoms. [1]

Board secretary Anna Coscia reported two administrative agreements finalized in January: a Township Employee Assistance Program agreement has been signed and executed, and a Shared Service Agreement for a 2026-2027 Bloodborne Pathogens Compliance Program was also completed. [1]

President Sparozic noted that the board's annual free Rabies Clinic is scheduled for Saturday, March 21, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Volunteers from the Board of Health are needed to help staff the event.

The board meets the second Thursday of each month at 7:30 p.m. at Memorial Town Hall. The next meeting is February 12.
