Abbie's Diner, a Wyckoff institution that had been closed for some time, is back — and residents are taking notice.

Casey Colaneri, a member of the Wyckoff Board of Health, recently completed a soft opening of Abbie's Diner, with the return generating significant excitement among locals. Township Committee liaison James Schappert brought the news to the board's February 12 meeting, drawing warm congratulations from fellow members.

"The Board looks forward to the announcement of the grand opening and wishes continued success as the diner once again serves the Wyckoff community," the minutes reflect. [1] The reopening "generated significant excitement among locals who have long awaited its return," according to the board's records.

The board also transacted several health-related items at its February work session. Members voted unanimously to approve an Interlocal Service Agreement with the Mid-Bergen Regional Health Commission to provide public health services, including a Child Health Conference for Wyckoff residents with infants and school-aged children. [1] The program offers pediatric wellness screenings and public health resources for young families in the township.

Looking ahead, the board confirmed two guest speakers from Ridgewood Water — Richard Calbi and Bill Bierwas — will present at the March 12 meeting to discuss water quality topics. [1]

The board reminded residents that a free Rabies Clinic is set for Saturday, March 21, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Volunteers are still needed.

The board meets the second Thursday of each month at 7:30 p.m. at Memorial Town Hall. The March 12 meeting, featuring the Ridgewood Water presentation, is next.
