When the calendar flipped to 2026, Wyckoff crossed the threshold into its centennial year — 100 years since the township's formal incorporation.[1] For local officials, the milestone demanded something more than a plaque on Town Hall.

The result is a year-long celebration anchored by three signature public events, each designed to draw different slices of the community together.

The Centennial Gala on March 21st will be a formal evening at the Brick House restaurant, gathering elected officials, township staff, civic leaders, and residents for a dinner-and-program event. Tickets were expected to go on sale shortly after the new year.

The Main Street Block Party and Street Fair on June 27th will be the most broadly accessible event of the three — a daytime street festival with vendors, entertainment, food, and family activities, followed in the evening by a fireworks display at Memorial Field. Committee member Peter Melchione, who has been leading centennial planning, promised a 35-foot Ferris wheel as the visual centerpiece of the afternoon.[2]

The Historic Cemetery Tour on October 24th takes a quieter and more reflective approach, guided walks through some of the township's oldest burial grounds to connect residents with the generations who built Wyckoff.

A Centennial Committee, staffed by volunteers and coordinated through Town Hall, is overseeing logistics for all three events and actively soliciting sponsors to offset costs. Officials said they were committed to keeping the centennial programming from burdening the municipal budget.

'This is a year to remind ourselves of who we are and where we came from,' Mayor Lane said. 'A hundred years is worth celebrating properly.'
